NLS 05: Podium finish and class victory at the Nürburgring

Two Zimmermann Porsches of the Team Mathol Racing, competed in the fifth race of the 2023 Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS), the 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal race. Both cars saw the checkered flag. The Zimmermann-Porsche Cayman won again in the VT3 class and the Zimmermann-Porsche 911 GT3 Cup took another podium finish with third place in the "Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring". Mathol team boss Matthias Holle: "Not everything worked perfectly, but we can still be very satisfied with our performance. Despite the intense heat, driver and team performed well."

Summer conditions prevailed in the Eifel: sunshine and temperatures well above 30 degrees Celsius. With 110 participants, there were fewer interruptions than usual during qualifying, but the times were still slower than normal - certainly due to the heat.

The Zimmermann Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (#107) from the one-make cup "Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring" (Cup 2) was driven by Arne Hoffmeister, Hendrick Still and the Austrian Reinhard Kofler. In qualifying, the team finished 5th on the grid, a position the trio also held for a long time in the race. Towards the end of the race, the Zimmermann Porsche continued to move forward and was soon on the podium, missing second place by just six seconds. The overall result was a brilliant 8th place. Team boss Holle: "Another strong performance. 3rd place and a place in the top 10 overall is something to be proud of. Great work by the team."

The Zimmermann Porsche 718 Cayman S (#474) took the expected class win in the VT3 class. Argentine Marcos Adolfo Vazquez, Max Schmidt and Erik Braun confidently claimed success with the fast Cayman. In the race, the trio managed the fastest lap among the production-based cars, but it was not enough for more on this race day, as the trio did not go the distance without problems. Team boss Holle: "It was the firmly planned class victory. Unfortunately, more was not possible, as there was a minor slip on a coolant track."
