The fourth round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series 2023 (NLS), the 46th RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen, also saw the two Zimmermann Porsches, fielded by Mathol Racing, on the grid. Both cars saw the checkered flag. After several TOP placings in previous rounds, the Zimmermann Porsche 911 GT3 Cup took to the top of the podium for the first time in the "Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring". The Zimmermann-Porsche Cayman won again in the VT3 class. Mathol team boss Matthias Holle: "A great performance by the whole team."
The external conditions were quite good on this day in the Eifel: sunshine and summer temperatures. However, qualifying was disrupted by a prolonged Code 60 zone. Fast times were thus only possible at the start of practice.
The Zimmermann Porsche 911 GT3 Cup from the one-make cup "Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring" was driven this time by Arne Hoffmeister and Hendrick Still. In qualifying, the team missed the optimum time slot and thus found itself at the end of the one-make cup field. However, in the race, which attracted just under 100 participants, the duo presented itself from its best side. Starting driver Hoffmeister brought the Zimmermann Porsche to the front of the leading group with consistently fast lap times. At race half-time, the Mathol car took the lead for the first time and crossed the finish line as the winner after four hours. In addition, there was a top placement with 5th place in the overall standings. Team boss Holle: "A great success. Both drivers were convincing. Finally the hard work of our team has been rewarded."
The team delivered the expected strong performance in the Zimmermann Porsche 718 Cayman S in the VT3 class. Argentine Marcos Adolfo Vazquez, Max Schmidt and Erik Braun confidently took another class win for the fast Cayman. In the race, the trio managed the fastest lap among the production-based cars. However, success in the classification group was not possible this time, as the necessary race strategy required an additional longer stop. Team boss Holle: "The usual good result. The team worked flawlessly, more was not possible."
