Amazing triumph for the Zimmermann-Porsche Cayman S at the fifth race of the VLN endurance championship Nürburgring. Within the Rowe 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal-race, the Cayman used by Mathol Racing won the class and was at the same time successful in the evaluation group of the near-production vehicles. Team leader Matthias Holle: "That was an almost perfect performance. We have achieved the best possible result. The team has done an excellent job."
The weather conditions at the Nürburgring were unstable: The morning started with heavy rain but stopped at the start of the race. The track dried up quickly and it stayed dry until the end of the race, at times even the sun appeared over the Eifel.
The Zimmermann-Porsche Cayman S drove as usual in the class V6. The driver trio Wolfgang Weber/Alex Fielenbach/Roberto Falcon received support from Mathol driver Hendrik Still. Because of heavy rain in the training, the team did not risk too much, but still finished first within the class. In the race, the Zimmermann-Cayman was in the lead from the start and defended the position confidently over the entire race distance.
The competitors did not stand a chance. The team crossed the finish line with one lap advantage over the runner-up in the class. As if that weren't enough, the Zimmermann team won the standings for the first time this season and secured themselves a position on the podium. Team leader Matthias Holle: "We saw a flawless performance. The pit stops were good, and the lap times were constantly fast. We were able to leave behind top teams from the V5 class, which are as fast as the V6 cars this season.”
