Zimmermann-Porsche active and successful

Review of the 12h race - preview of the seventh NLS run

The 12h race, the sixth round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS), which was held for the first time, turned out to be a success for the Zimmermann Porsches. Both cars, entered by Mathol Racing, crossed the finish line to take a class win and a brilliant second place in the "Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring".

The Zimmermann Porsche 911 GT3 Cup was driven by Arne Hoffmeister, Hendrik Still and Austrian Reinhard Kofler. In qualifying in difficult external conditions, the trio maintained a good fifth place. In the race, which was completed in two sections over six hours each, the team fared even better. In section one, which suffered from changing conditions with rain coming down again and again, the trio settled in the leading group from the start.

This position was still valid in the second part of the race, where conditions were much better. In the end, the team celebrated a podium finish in class with second place and a top result with 12th place overall.

The Zimmermann Porsche 718 Cayman S in the VT3 class was driven by no less than five drivers during the 12 hours. Erik Braun, Matthias Trinius, the Canadian DTM driver Mikael Grenier and the Argentineans Marcos Adolfo Vazquez and Pehuajo Coco took turns behind the wheel. In practice, the quintet took pole position in class.

In the race, the Zimmermann Cayman fought for class victory against another strong Cayman from the very first lap. The decision was not made until the second section of the race, when the competitor lost crucial time in the pits. At the finish, the Zimmermann team had a clear lead and celebrated another class victory. In addition, there was still 51st place in the overall standings.

Team boss Matthias Holle: "A strong performance by the team and an excellent result. We are happy."

2 Zimmermann Porsches at the 54th ADAC Barbarossapreis

The seventh NLS round, the 54th ADAC Barbarossapreis, will again see two Zimmermann Porsches entered by Mathol Racing. The Zimmermann Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, which competes in the one-make cup "Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring" and has already achieved great placings this season, will be driven this time by Arne Hoffmeister and Frenchman Dorian Boccolacci. The goal for the duo is another top finish in the Porsche one-make cup.

Four drivers are entered in the Zimmermann Porsche 718 Cayman S in the VT3 class this time: the Argentines Marcos Adolfo Vazquez and Nicolas Martin Varrone as well as the Canadian Mikael Grenier and the Berliner Arvid Thal. The goal is another class victory. Team boss Holle: "Of course we want to build on our successes in the last races. First, though, we have to get the cars to the finish line."
