Another victory in the classification group

Zimmermann-Porsche Cayman successful at the Nürburgring

Zimmermann and Mathol Racing used the successful Zimmermann-Porsche 718 Cayman S in class VT3 (start number 474) at the fourth round of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS), the 43rd RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen, in the class VT3. Behind the steering wheel, the Zimmermann team drivers Wolfgang Weber and Alex Fielenbach took turns. In the end, there was another class victory as well as a sovereign success in the classification group of production-based vehicles.

The weather conditions were difficult in the Eifel. Heavy rain had flooded the Nordschleife at the beginning of qualifying. The conditions improved only slowly. At the start of the race, the track had almost dried up. But dark clouds and a few damp spots turned the tyre choice into a lottery.

Because the class VT3 was only poorly occupied, the Zimmermann team concentrated from the beginning on the victory of the classification group. In the rainy qualifying session the duo drove class best time and secured a strong starting position 41 among a good 130 participants at the Nürburgring with a lap time of 10.49,683 minutes. In the race the Zimmermann-Cayman was leading in the class from the beginning and also quickly took the top position in the classification group. After a faultless drive the Zimmermann team finally crossed the finish line as class and classification group winner. In the overall classification this means 52nd place. team boss Holle: "Unfortunately, there are currently no real opponents in the class. That's why we are concentrating on success in the classification group. The Cayman is now very fast on the track and absolutely reliable."
