Successful performance at the Nürburgring

Zimmermann-Porsche convince in the Eifel

As usual, Mathol Racing brought two Zimmermann Porsches to the start of the third round of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie 2023 (NLS), the 54th Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken Trophy. Both cars crossed the finish line. There was a class and classification group win as well as another good placing. Mathol team boss Matthias Holle: "The team did a good job again. The Zimmermann Porsches delivered a good performance and took a convincing classification group win."

The outside conditions were almost ideal during the morning qualifying session. It was cold, but the track was completely dry. As the number of incidents and Code 60 zones was also low, the almost 140 participants set top times at the Nürburgring. This was also true for the Zimmermann Cayman, which set a new lap record for the VT3 class.

The Zimmermann Porsche 911 GT3 Cup from the "Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring" one-make cup was driven by Arne Hoffmeister and Austrian Reinhard Kofler. In qualifying, the duo had a bit of bad luck and got stuck in traffic several times during the fast laps. However, starting driver Kofler quickly caught up in the race and established the Mathol Porsche in the leading group. The duo then held this position and crossed the finish line in 5th place. The gap to 3rd place was just 18 seconds. Team boss Holle: "A top result. The battle in the leading group is dramatically close. That's why we had to be satisfied with 5th place this time."

The team delivered a top performance in the Zimmermann Porsche 718 Cayman S in the VT3 class. Theo Oeverhaus, Argentinean Marcos Adolfo Vazquez and Briton Frank Bird managed the perfect result. In practice, the trio set a top time of 9m 02.674s and also a new lap record for the VT3 class. The Cayman was thus also the fastest vehicle in the production-based cars. The series of successes continued in the race. The Zimmermann team won both the class and the classification and also set the fastest race lap among the production-based cars. Team boss Holle: "A great performance. The team made no mistakes and dominated the competition on this day with consistently fast lap times."
